The South + Midwest

Georgia and South Carolina

Savannah was super charming with all its beautiful squares and lovely houses, but somehow we didn’t get many pictures. Spent time with friends and family in Kiawah Island, South Carolina and saw a bigger alligator than we saw the whole time in Florida — a mama with a handful of babies sunning on her back!

Asheville

Art, music, architecture, and a brewery on every other corner — Asheville has a lot to offer. We ran into friends from Boston on the street and got to hang out with them and tour the Biltmore mansion. Then we went to see a beloved band, Built to Spill, with new friends we had just met days before in South Carolina!

Tennessee, Arkansas, & Missouri

We made our way across the country spending time in Tennessee, Arkansas, and Missouri. Neither of us had been to Memphis or Nashville, and we really enjoyed the culture there. A standout was the National Civil Rights Museum in Memphis which was incredibly impactful. It’s located at the Lorraine Motel where Martin Luther King, Jr. was assassinated. And if you find yourself near Bentonville, AR, spend a day at Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art.
