Skiing & Ski Towns

The third leg of our trip started with nearly 7 weeks of skiing.
Andy skied 31 days on 16 different mountains. I wasn’t far behind skiing 25 days on 13 mountains, and only cried from frustration or nerves 2 or 3 times.

We skied in 7 different states: Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Wyoming, Utah, Colorado, and New Mexico

Andy is an expert skier and I was more of a beginner/intermediate to start. It was humbling and challenging to be relearning something so physical. Overall, it was an incredibly rewarding experience and we got to ski with lots of friends and family along the way, which was a highlight of the whole trip.

The little mountain towns we went through were super charming and our eyes were treated to glorious views nearly every day. We couldn’t have asked for a more perfect year snow-wise, and the weather was mostly cooperative. The van even got through some brutally cold days, like the -18 F day in Sun Valley, where we were super thankful to have rented a condo!
